GeODin user administration

The GeODin user administration developed as part of GeODin 9 allows you to configure the visibility for GeODin methods, system databases, user and system queries as well as object groups, directly via the system tab in GeODin or on the elements themselves. In the future, this functionality will also be extended to documents, such as maps.

By default, the above methods and elements in GeODin are visible to all users. However, with the users and user groups configured in GeODin, their visibility can be restricted as required, according to specific use cases and to simplify the GeODin UI for an individual user.

In order to be able to use the user administration on the relevant elements in GeODin, the individual GeODin users must first be entered via the system tab and the method "Configure GeODin users" and, if necessary, categorised in user groups.

The user ID of the PC is used to identify individual users (login name and password).

Subsequently, these users or user groups can be assigned to the individual elements.

On the system side, it is possible to restrict the visibility of individual GeODin methods as well as specific system databases and queries.

In the GeODin object manager ( short: GOM), you can restrict the visibility of user queries and object groups.

To prevent security-relevant settings, such as user administration, from being bypassed by older GeODin versions, the elements in question can only be opened and edited with current GeODin versions.
