GeODin Portal Server

Create live web pages

The GeODin Portal Server module contains all the features of the GeODin Image Server, and adds the functionality of creating web pages and navigable web portals for the Intranet and Internet on the basis of GeODin layouts. Hence it is ideally suited to monitoring systems where there is a high density of measurement values and where time-critical graphics are required.

You do not need any knowledge of HTML coding or website design tools. Just using GeODin graphics tools you can create reports and diagrams to show geological, geotechnical and analytical data. Each web page can contain links to other pages, whether it be a detailed view of a selected parameters and trends, an overview of particular sensors, or an integrated map server. Each layout can contain an unlimited number of database queries which supply the results displayed in the graphical and report elements.

Links between webpages can be attached to variable text elements, either solitary or contained within reports and time series. The links can be controlled by attaching conditional statements, so that certain conditions have to be met for a link to be active (e.g. if no daily values are present then the link is greyed out). Additionally conditional links can pass on parameters for loading the correct data in the next layout (e.g. linking from a monthly to an annual view). An unlimited number of graphic elements can be placed on a web page.

PDF reports on the fly can be generated from a set of templates (e.g. a report comprising several individual layouts such as cover pages, borehole log, time-series, XY-plots etc), hence enabling your web portal visitors to not only view data online, but download complete documentation to a borehole or sensor.

The GeODin Portal Server module can be further extended with the program GeODin Guardian. With the help of this "watchman" the database itself can be monitored and alarms sent out by email or SMS if certain conditions are met (specified values exceeded or no measurements obtained within a specified time interval). GeODin Guardian can also send out periodic reports to a list of selected recipients and create shape files based on database queries.
