Importing time measurements from MSExcel

News
23 May 2011

When importing measurements with time from Excel, they must be formatted as a 5 character long text string and not as time. To reformat the existing time column follow these steps:

Create a new column; In the first data field of the new column write =Text( [original time field] ;“hh:mm“) e.g. =Text(C2;“hh:mm”)
Copy this cell (Ctrl+C); Select the whole column; Paste (Ctrl+V); Choose a name (free choice) for the new column; Before deleting the original time column, you first need to copy the newly create column, paste as values (right mouse click, paste special) and save .

The linked knowledge base article explains the steps in detail.
